Boiler Fuel System Enhancement

"Above all, and most immediately, we face the end of the cheap fossil fuel era.we ceased paying attention to the essential nature of these miraculous gifts from the earth: that they exist in finite, nonrenewable supplies, unevenly distributed around the world."
Kunstler, The Long Emergency, 2005

PRODUCTS/SERVICES:

The Company's primary product is a three-module mechanical device (designated by the Company's trademark: "EMULSION TO COMBUSTION" or "E2C" System) that is installed near the boiler's point of combustion. Both fuel and water flow separately into the E2C unit's intake module in predetermined ratios. The unit's proprietary designed reactor module emulsifies the two liquids (without chemical additives), which are then delivered via the output module to the boiler for efficient and low emissions combustion. The design is based upon an understanding of liquid fuel and water flow dynamics in the mixing of these fluids, to accomplish correct emulsification at the point of use. The proprietary reactor chamber technology referred to as the "Cottell Cavitational Processing Reactor" ("CCPR"); which is at the heart of the E2C System, is produced by the company under exclusive, worldwide license for boiler and related applications from NoNox, Ltd. (Nassau, Bahamas).

COTEFCO PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS:

The COTEFCO process creates fuel emulsions without additives by placing a proprietary mechanical device (the Cottell Cavitational Processing Reactor) at the point of combustion (i.e. at the oil burner or power generator fuel intake). The addition of water to fuel oil (No. 2, No. 4, No. 6 and recycled motor oil) causes more complete combustion of the fuel with increased efficiency and substantial reduction in noxious emissions.

The CIBS Emulsion-to-combustion (E2C) Unit Produces:

  • Improved Performance - The addition of water increases the surface area of the fuel and creates a secondary atomization causing a phenomenon, we call "microexplosions", which results in a more complete combustion, thus reducing exhaust gas temperatures and the formation of oxides of nitrogen (NOx).
  • Reduced Emissions - Due to more complete combustion, particulate emissions as well as NOx are significantly reduced. While individual results vary, tests performed by COTEFCO on a variety of engines/boilers have shown that NOx and particulate emissions are reduced by 15 to 90%.
  • Internally Cleaner Engine or Boiler - During combustion, the internal water droplets vaporize, causing micro explosions of the fuel, leading to a much finer atomization and a more thorough mixing of air and fuel. This process results in less air and a dramatic reduction in carbon (soot, smoke) buildup.
  • Cost Effectiveness - The cost of equipment and installation in most cases can be covered by the fuel savings achieved in one to three years. Further savings may also be achieved by the ability to burn cheaper fuels which otherwise would not be in environmental compliance. Economic savings may also be realized from expected reductions in engine or boiler maintenance and life-extension of existing equipment.

The COTEFCO PROCESS can deliver significant fuel savings in institutions, factories, manufacturing plants and almost any facility where heat plays a major part in the conversion of raw materials into steam, heat, hot water or useable products.

The COTEFCO PROCESS

COTEFCO equipment is available for a wide range of fuel oil consumption installations from 50 to 400 gallons per hour.

THE COTEFCO "E2C" ADVANTAGE:

Advantages of Coefcos' on-site, installed fuel beneficiation equipment, compared to the use of pure oil or an oil-emulsion, pre-mixed fuel with additives are:

  • SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED EMISSIONS of from roughly 15% to 90%, which may result in compliance with existing and planned environmental legislation and possible "green" tax credits
  • FUEL SAVINGS of roughly 5% to 15% or more, depending on performance of the existing boiler
  • NO CHEMICALS ARE NEEDED since the E2C unit creates emulsion mechanically
  • FLEXIBILITY OF OIL PRODUCT The E2C unit works with three fuel-oil types (No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6), allowing the customer to choose the fuel and fuel supplier that provide the best cost and service
  • TRANSPORTATION SAVINGS. COTEFCO supplies equipment. It does not ship water as some vendors do
  • NO SPECIAL WATER NEEDS. The COTEFCO E2C Unit works with virtually any tap water.
  • ELIMINATES CHANCE OF OIL/WATER SEPARATION, which can occur in some emulsion fuels. Such a separation can contaminate an entire fuel supply
  • NO NEED FOR A DEDICATED EMULSION STORAGE FACILITY or need to move large containers of emulsion, since the oil and water emulsion process occurs inside the E2C unit and is used immediately at the point of combustion
  • ELIMINATES ANY CHANCE OF BIOLOGICAL GROWTH IN STORED FUEL, since the emulsion process is applied only to fuel sent to the E2C unit
