Transforming Biodiesel Processing

ECI Logo

"Above all, and most immediately, we face the end of the cheap fossil fuel era.we ceased paying attention to the essential nature of these miraculous gifts from the earth: that they exist in finite, nonrenewable supplies, unevenly distributed around the world."
Kunstler, The Long Emergency, 2005

"Biofuel production in the United States could experience up to a tenfold increase between 2007 and 2012."
Paul, Future Energy

THE BIOFUELS FIELD

THE BIODIESEL REVOLUTION IS NOT COMING, IT IS HERE TODAY. Biofuels companies and technologies are emerging out of older, formerly non-economical methods and newly discovered ways of making biodiesel both cost effective and environmentally beneficial. Today, biofuels represent one of the fastest growing alternative energy resource components.

THE COMPANY

ECO-CULTURE INDUSTRIES, INC. ("ECI") is a (2007) Virginia Corporation. It is an affiliate of Cotefco Energy Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation, ("Cotefco") which is engaged in developing and marketing important, new technology in the field of fuel emulsions as an alternative energy resource to pure oil. ECI has received rights to manufacture proprietary hydrodynamic cavitation technology (described below) for use in transesterification of feedstock and chemicals in biofuels production. ECI also has a partnered relationship with Piedmont Biodiesel Industrial LLC, a North Carolina LLC ("PBI"). Piedmont Biofuels is an emerging leader in biodiesel production and research and development in biofuels.

COMPANY MISSION

Reducing costs and time production requirements to help make biofuels a realistic and sustainable contribution to the world's energy requirements is the mission of ECI. Building on the experience and technical successes of inventor, Eric W. Cottell and of the technical staffs of Cotefco Energy Group, Inc. and Piedmont Biofuels, ECI intends to become the technology leader in creation of equipment and processes which benefit society's energy needs by resulting profitable biofuels production.

PRODUCTS/SERVICES

Eco-Culture Industries, Inc. ("ECI") is bringing to market - directly, and through collaborative business relationships - products and services for "Economical Environmental Technology for Biodiesel Transesterification." ECI has shown that its devices will, in most cases, increase the speed and efficiency of the transesterification step in biodiesel production by use of the Company's proprietary Cottell Cavitational Processing Reactor ("CCPR") System. Test results to date have shown that in spite of its improvements to speed and efficiency the CCPR produces product which meets or exceeds ASTM specs. In most cases, the CCPR System will be more economical than other processing technologies.

THE BENEFITS OF HYDRODYNAMIC CAVITATION

  • Continuous flow biodiesel production.
  • Easy operation.
  • Less operator time required compared to batch process.
  • Works with Potassium Hydroxide, Potassium Methylate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Methylate catalysts.
  • Transesterifies feedstock up to %FFA of 7 without pretreatment.
  • Plug in and produce.
  • All explosion proof wiring.
  • Push button start.
  • Can operate on single phase (110/220V) or 3 phase (208/480V) power supply.
  • Stainless steel construction mounted on steel skid.
  • Draws reactants direct from feedstock tanks (reactor can be mounted directly in tank farm).
  • No need for heating elements, heats oil and catalyst as it is being processed. No heating required in the unit.
  • Combination of sheering and cavitation.
  • Advance in phase 1 settling time.
  • More economical, environmental friendly end-product possibilities.
